In this article, we'll take a look at the award-winning electric vehicles that stood out in one of the automotive industry's most prestigious awards.

The Volkswagen ID Buzz is What Car?'s Car of the Year for 2023! The fully electric MPV tapped into the nostalgic and retro styling of Volkswagen's iconic Type 2 camper

It's the second year in a row that a fully electric vehicle has won the top award, with the Kia EV6 winning the prize in 2022.

What Car? said the car stood out for 'combining the practicality of an MPV with the comfort and desirability of a luxury SUV, while undercutting rivals such as the BMW iX3, Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes-Benz EQC'.

The Honda Jazz 1.5 i-MMD Hybrid SR won the Small Car of the Year award. The petrol hybrid Jazz is a deceptively small, compact car that prioritises interior space to give drivers and passengers as much room as possible.

The winner of the Small Electric Car Award was the MG 4 SE. MG's new electric hatchback has a competitive range whilst still managing to undercut popular rivals on price. If you're on the search for a good value EV in 2023 then the MG 4 is a car you mustn't miss.

Tesla's fully electric Model 3 RWD came away with the Ecutive Car of the Year Award. The Model 3 needs no introduction at this point, the innovative EV saloon has plenty of interior space, is quick off the mark and is packed with special features.

The Family Car of the Year Award goes to the Honda Civic 2.0 e:HEV Sport. Honda's eleventh-generation Civic family hatch embraces full-Hybrid tech, to provide drivers with excellent fuel economy. The Civic is slightly larger than its rivals and is the perfect all-around package for families.

PHEV of the year went to the Lexus NX 450h+ Premium Pack. Lexus' first plug-in hybrid model has proven to be a big hit as it offers a competitive 43-mile range on top of a luxury driving experience.

The Genesis GV60 RWD Premium was crowned the electric SUV of the year. Genesis won in the electric SUV category on its first attempt. The South Korean brand has managed to establish itself in European markets with the GV60 which offers quality inside and out.

As the overall Car of the Year winner, the Volkswagen ID Buzz also takes the award for the best large electric car. The retro EV shares its underpinnings with the Volkswagen ID 4 and Audi Q4 e-tron.

Luxury Car of the Year goes to the Land Rover Range Rover Sport P440e Dynamic SE. The new hybrid Range Rover is a worthy winner as it comes loaded full of features to enhance the driving experience. 20-way adjustable heated seats, luxury materials and an air suspension will help passengers relax on long journeys.
