Revamped Tesla Model 3: Sleeker Design, Extended Range & Enhanced Features

Set to make its debut in the UK early next year, the revamped Model 3 now has a sleeker and more aerodynamic exterior that draws inspiration from the Model S. Its fog lights have been integrated into the headlight units and new C-shaped tail lamps fit seamlessly into the rear boot lid.

The EV's wheel designs have been optimised for improved aerodynamic performance as well. These modifications, coupled with the use of more efficient tyres, are expected to increase the anticipated driving range by approximately 5-8%, all while utilising the same battery technology as before.

The Long Range model is expected to have a 421-mile range (up from 394) whereas the entry-level Rear-Wheel-Drive model is targeting a 344-mile range (up from 305).

Furthermore, the sleeker design has led to a quieter driving experience. The cabin features new 360-degree acoustic glass, upgraded suspension bushings, seals and sound-dampening materials.

Inside, the cabin now boasts customisable ambient lighting that wraps around its interior. Ventilated front seats and heated seats throughout the cabin are integrated into the automatic climate control system.

The centre console, now adorned in aluminium, has undergone a redesign and three USB-C charging ports can fast-charging devices, each providing up to 65W of power.

In addition, Tesla has introduced its own premium audio system, featuring 17 speakers, dual subwoofers and dual amplifiers for Long Range models, as well as 9 speakers, a single subwoofer and an amplifier for Rear-Wheel Drive models.

Enhanced microphones have been incorporated to improve call quality, and a brand-new 8-inch rear display now manages climate settings, ventilation, and entertainment.

Tesla's commitment to a minimalist driver interface remains, with traditional stalks replaced by steering wheel controls that include haptic switches and physical buttons.

Smart Shift, a feature borrowed from the latest Model S and Model X, automatically selects the appropriate driving mode when you begin your journey. A 15.4-inch centre display retains its previous size but now comes with a slimmer bezel.

Lastly, the Model 3 introduces two new colour options: Ultra Red and Stealth Grey.

Although official pricing details are yet to be unveiled, it is anticipated that there will be a modest price increase compared to current levels, alongside a reduction in the discounts previously offered for the older model.
