Initially revealed as the ID. Aero, the Tesla Model 3 rival will be labelled as the ID.7 as it slots into Volkswagen’s growing fully electric line-up.
VW won’t reveal the EV’s full design just yet but it has lifted the lid on a few key specifications. The ID.7 is 4.94 metres long, 1.86 metres wide and 1.53 metres tall, which makes it larger than the Model 3 in every aspect.
A lengthy 435-mile range is being targeted by the German carmaker. Improved aerodynamics will be one of the ways Volkswagen extends its range by reducing the ID.7’s drag coefficient.
On the inside, a 15-inch touchscreen will feature along with new back-lit illuminated sliders to improve the usability of interior buttons.
Full details of the ID.7’s specs and a close-up look at the exterior design, without its QR code camouflage, are expected to be revealed later this year.
