New Skoda Vision 7S Concept

Skoda sets its sights on a new brand identity with the electric seven-seat Vision 7S concept, that they hope to bring into production by 2026.

The new large SUV will also be accompanied by an electric city car and a compact crossover in the coming years too.

The Czech manufacturer is looking to build upon the success of its first bespoke electric model, the Enyaq.

The 7S concept brings with it a vastly different design language that is being described as ‘Modern Solid’. This features new T-shaped headlights, large skid plates and striking vertical air intakes at the front and rear.

A huge 89kWh battery provides an electric driving range of 370 miles, which is substantially larger than what most of the vehicles are currently offering in the Volkswagen Group.

On the inside, Skoda has been ambitious with an oval steering wheel, opposite-opening doors and a child seat built into the centre console – features that might not necessarily make it onto the production model.

The reverse-facing child seat on this concept means that the Vision 7S actually has 6 seats plus 1 for the child.

This clear intent on producing EVs doesn’t mean that Skoda’s ICE models will become neglected though. Skoda plan on refreshing the Superb, Kodiaq and Octavia models across the next couple of years.
