The latest photos of the electric two-seater, follow on from concept previews in 2021. Pictures reveal that the Cyberster now has a slightly more conservative design but still retains the defining features of a traditional roadster with its long bonnet and short tail.
An electrically-folding fabric roof provides a secure interior environment while the nose takes inspiration from former MG models. At the rear, the taillights are a little more adventurous with their arrow-like shape that’s been inspired by the Union Flag. Scissor doors complete the design to give the roadster an added bit of flair.
On the inside, a Tesla-style yolk steering wheel and several digital displays will be available to drivers.
The Cyberster’s all-electric powertrain will be available in both single and twin-motor options. Standard wheels will be 19 inches, with high-spec versions wearing the 20-inch set that can be seen in MG’s images.
Design leaks have revealed a number of details about the car. The Cyberster will be 4,535mm long, 1,913mm wide and 1,329mm high. They also show that the single-motor models will provide 309bhp whilst the dual-motor models provide up to 536bhp.
While no specific details about the battery pack have been mentioned, MG claimed the Cyberster concept could do 500 miles on a single charge and accelerate from 0-62mph in less than three seconds. Unfortunately, we’d expect these statistics to be a bit lower on the final production car.
The MG Cyberster is set to be released in the summer of 2024, and while prices and overall specifications are still to be confirmed, the electric roadster could be a compelling proposition if MG’s previous electric models are anything to go by.
