Initially unveiled as the MG Mulan in Chinese markets, the 4 should arrive over in the UK early next year, built upon the brand’s new Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) that will appear across MG’s next generation of electric cars.
The shape and design of the 4 differ from previous MG models. This latest hatchback features a more angular design with sharper and meaner points.
On the inside, a large touchscreen dominates the dashboard and a digital instrument panel sits behind the two-spoke steering wheel. The MG 4 has a noticeably more upmarket look compared to the other models in MG’s range.
Making use of a new platform has allowed MG to install extra space inside the vehicle by fitting a thinner battery underneath the passenger cell. There are two battery sizes on offer; one that’s 51kWh allowing 217 miles of range and one that’s 64kWh giving 280 miles of range. The top-end 64kWh car comes with 201bhp.
MG are yet to confirm all of the vehicle’s exact specifications and pricing.
