This means that the new EV has a greater range than any other battery electric SUV currently on sale. The 440-mile total exceeded Fisker’s original 390-mile estimate for the Extreme trim.
Being able to travel 440 miles (707 kilometres) on a single charge will allow the Ocean to drive from London to Glasgow without stopping for a charge.
For comparison, other premium electric SUVs on the market like the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and Tesla Model X can go 365 miles and 351 miles respectively.
Official battery specifications haven’t yet been released but the entry-level models will receive a smaller battery pack that’s capable of a 275-mile range.
The Ocean will be available in three different trim levels. A Sport trim comes with a 275bhp front-wheel-drive motor that helps the EV go from 0-60mph in around 6.6 seconds.
The Ultra trim gets a motor on each axle that increases the total power output to 540bhp and drops the 0-60mph to just 3.9 seconds. The range-topping Extreme trim has 550bhp and a 3.6 second 0-60mph time.
The Fisker Ocean is set to be available in Europe by the end of April and deliveries are expected to start shortly after. Pricing in the UK will begin just short of the £35,000 mark.
