New Citroën Electric ë-C4

The new all electric ë-C4 will finally go on sale in the UK this month, with prices in the region of the £29,000 mark.

New Citroën Electric ë-C4

Citroën’s new car will be available in the same trims as the standard C4 except in the entry level Shine trim. The new EV will include features such as automatic headlights, front and rear parking sensors, rear privacy glass and keyless entry.

Citroën stated that it's confident that the fully electric ë-C4 will put their compact hatchbacks back on the map. The chief executive officer, Cobée, said that the vehicle “will be Citroën to its core, in design, innovation and comfort”.

The ë-C4 also comes with some impressive specs. It has a range of 217 miles, it can reach 0-62mph in 9.7 seconds and has a top speed of 93mph. Its electric engine has 134bhp and weighs 192lbs, drawing power from a 50kWh battery.

The car has an 11kW charger already fitted, allowing it to be fully charged from a home 32-amp wall box in around 5 hours. A public fast charger (100kW), on the other hand, can get the ë-C4 to 80% in just 30 minutes. The technology on the car also allows for the driver to be able to schedule charges via their mobile phone.

The exterior design takes inspiration from Citroën’s SUV models. A concave shape across the bonnet and the signature V-shaped lights are present. The wheels and the front bumper both come in a matte black finish too. Citroën has stated that the car’s short front and rear overhangs and 156mm ground clearance contribute to providing improved visibility than class rivals when on the roads.

If you get your hands on this car you will be greeted with a wide variety of state-of-the-art comfort features.

The seating has optional massaging and heating settings and the car is also fitted with a Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension that gives a smooth gentle ride. You’ll also have ample knee room for a comfy experience that will make you feel like you are “in your living room”.

The tech offered on this car is also very exciting. It comes with a 10’ infotainment screen that has Citroën’s latest navigation system. The rear-view mirror has an in-built full HD camera that can take either photos or videos that’ll be saved to a 16GB memory card.

20 driving assistance features are included too, such as semi-autonomous qualities like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping and Highway Driving Assist.

If you’re looking to hop on board the EV revolution this year then the new Citroën Electric ë-C4 could be the car for you.
