The Italian start-up only launched earlier this year and has already released images of its first vehicle. Aehra hopes its new SUV, which is yet to be named, will be the European rival to the American Lucid Air.
The premium electric SUV weighs less than 400lb and is built mostly from forged carbon fibre. Aehra hopes to make exciting EVs that have their own unique character.
The Aehra SUV is incredibly sleek with a long sloping roofline, thin swooping LED lights and flat door surfaces with no protruding handles. The doors themselves pop up vertically to help passengers enter and exit the vehicle.
Incredibly, despite its size, the SUV has a drag coefficient of just 0.21. In comparison, the 453-mile range Mercedes-Benz EQS saloon only just beats this figure with its 0.20 drag rating.
Sustainable materials will be used throughout the interior and a bespoke Aehra infotainment system will be ready for drivers. The Italian marque says there is plenty of room inside to fit “four full-size NBA players while leaving room for a six-foot adult in the middle of the rear seat row".
Aehra will be utilising cutting-edge battery technology on its SUV. They’re targeting a huge 497-mile range on a battery capacity of around 120kWh. This would make it the largest battery in any production vehicle that’s available today.
There’ll be three electric motors, one at the front and two at the rear, to give a total output of 805bhp.
Aehra is aiming to produce 20,000 SUVs a year, priced at around £157,000. Sales are likely to begin in Europe and the US before expanding to China.
