The latest iteration of the seven-seat SUV will go on sale early next year in a mix of hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.
The hybrid Santa Fe includes a 1.6-litre petrol engine that can provide 178bhp and 265Nm of torque. These specs allow for a 9.5-second 0-62mph and 118mph top speed.
The plug-in hybrid option comes with the same 1.6-litre petrol engine but with a much larger battery pack that should provide around 40 miles of range.
A longer wheelbase and a distinctly squared-off rear maximize the vehicle's cargo capacity. A stark departure from the curved contours and rounded edges of its predecessor, the new Santa Fe embraces a sharper and more boxy exterior aesthetic.
This bold reimagining results in some old-school styling that contrasts well against the futuristic full-width light bar and distinctive H-shaped headlights.
The side profile of the revamped Santa Fe reveals an almost straight roofline that gently tapers towards the rear and a set of robust octagonal wheel arches house impressive 21-inch wheels.
At the back, the car has an uncanny resemblance to more contemporary Land Rover models with its body-coloured trim and distinctive window shape. Adding to the visual impact is the prominent 'Santa Fe' insignia elegantly emblazoned across the rear boot lid.
Stepping inside, drivers will notice the Nappa leather and wood finishes as well as a dual-screen setup measuring 12.3 inches. Another prominent tech feature includes a centre console that contains not one, but two wireless charging pads.
Beneath the dashboard, a substantial control panel takes centre stage, adorned with tactile physical dials responsible for regulating temperature and audio settings.
This new Santa Fe model will not include an all-electric variant as the IONIQ 7 will fill this void in Hyundai’s line-up.
